1970's: Batik Soft Sculpture

During the late 60's and 1970's, Morag Benepe abandoned ceramics and began working on fabric. Using the ancient method of batik, or wax resist and progressive series of dye baths. Morag created life sized quilted or trap unto stuffed figures, as murals floating across walls or as seated sculptures.
